Set in Calcutta in seemingly modern times, 'Swaragini' tells the story of Bengali mom ki beti Swara and Marwari chori Ragini whose families are neighbours and at loggerheads with each other.Over several squabbles, it is revealed that Shekhar, Ragini’s father is also Swara’s dad! He and Swara’s mother Sharmistha were in love but Shekhar backed out at the last minute creating a rift between the families.
